Godrej INTERIO is one of the India's most well-known furniture manufacturers.
The main product lines of Godrej INTERIO include Office, Seating and Desking
furniture. The major challenge faced by Godrej-Interio was to streamline their
business processes and to reduce the lead time to introduce the new and
customized products in the market. Hence they decided to implement a Product
Lifecycle Management solution. Another challenge for Godrej INTERIO was that the
ERP from BAAN, which they were currently using had inconsistencies in the
engineering and manufacturing data. And the ED module of BAAN was not used
effectively. Geometric Limited was chosen as the consultant and the PLM
implementation partner.
As a solution, Windchill PLM solution has been deployed along with the
existing BAAN ERP. The expected benefits of this deployment are Speedy search of
the design data, reduced paper based documentation, design data access to the
cross-functional departments with proper access control to the concerned roles,
Reuse of customized designs using classification tool.
Plus, it has automated engineering changes, and provided better synchronization
of design data with the ERP data.
