An important part of any Revenue Commissionerate's tasks is to update information on the revenue collections from all tehsils within a district. Earlier, they used legacy client-server systems at each location thus creating isolated silos of information. However, lack of connectivity with remote areas leads to discrepancies in facts and delays thereof, lack of co-ordination & repetition of manual work at all levels, and the combined effects of these led to poor MIS reports and analysis. Thus, there was a pressing need to have a web based solution that combined the data lying across all locations and provided the revenue officials with a single window to access and modify information anytime, anywhere.

The solution has improved the speed of data updation and retrieval, and even brought the Revenue Commissioner's Office discrete MIS process on the web thus providing overall transparency to all officials concerned along with the added benefit of getting a variety of statistical info. Now the Commissionerate intends to add wings to this initiative by enabling access to the same solution through PDAs so that officials in remote areas can update and retrieve information on the move.
