Electrosteel is a geographically widespread company and wanted to bring all
of its manufacturing units under one roof to create a single window view of
business operations in the enterprise. It started the TransBiz project to
synchronize all its business operations. For this project company decided to
implement SAP ECC6 and the scope included Order to Cash and Procure to Pay
cycle, the complete supply chain cycle of Electrosteel. This has been handled
through modules like FICO, SD, MM, PP, PM, PS and QM. With its central data
center located at its plant in Kolkata, W.B, the company has covered its other
manufacturing units located at Elavur, T.N., Haldia, Regional offices at Delhi,
Ahemdabad, Chennai, Nagpur, Bombay and other 13 branch offices across India
under this implementation. A reliable WAN connectivity has been established
across these locations. The project has brought transparency into business
practices and decision making across the organization has significantly
improved. This project took 10 months to complete with the project life cycle
starting from Preparation to Go-Live.
