LM Glasfibre (India) Pvt Ltd : Streamling Business Processes

The company implemented Microsoft Dynamics AXapta to integrate islands of data in various departments across different locations

Tuesday, May 06, 2008

LM Glasfibre, located in Bangalore, specializes in designing and manufacturing large blades for multi-megawatt (MW) wind turbines for onshore and offshore operations. The company has a customer base of 20 global and local wind turbine manufacturers. The LM Group has produced more than 77,000 blades of various sizes. These blades contribute to a total electrical generation of 16,800 MW. In the past, LM Glasfibre was using Tally, Pay2Pro, and Microsoft Access for its financial, human resources, and customer relationship management (CRM) requirements. However, this led to isolated silos of information across various locations. The company also faced difficulties in obtaining real-time business information while planning material requirements, consignment tracking (because 90 percent of its materials are imported), and on time scheduling of resources with real-time connectivity throughout the organization. So, to create data integration within the company, LM Glasfiber decided to implement Microsoft AXapta. The implementation at the Bangalore facility took five months with minor customizations. Presently, all the group companies worldwide use this solution for key functions such as planning, inventory, production, human resources, and finance.
