An ERP implementation by a non-banking finance company to track and manage new projects along with a complete financial overview

SREI is an infrastructure equipment, infrastructure project, and renewable energy financing company. Headquartered in Kolkata, with a turnover of more than Rs 1,500 crore, it operates across the country with a network of 32 branches. Prior to implementing MS Dynamics AX, the company's systems comprised of COMPAQ ProLiant 5500 and Xeon 550 MHz processor running an in-house application called FINIX. This was the key line-of-business application. However, when implementing Oracle Financials on top of these legacy apps, the company realized that the solution was more complex than they had anticipated and so they went for a complete ERP solution to manage their day-to-day business processes. Initially, they deployed Microsoft AX to manage fund flow and real-time flow of information, and monitor asset liability. The accounts receivable and accounts payable modules were customized later to include new functionality to address asset financing, hire-purchase, lease, and loans. The deployment of Microsoft AX has automated the entire sales process within the company. When entering sales orders, the system automatically checks credit limits, customer account information, pricing agreements, and inventory levels to provide customers with real-time information.
