A radical new look with smooth curves unlike its predecessor the 7650! That is what the Nokia 3650 is all about. At first sight, the phone looks a bit bulky compared to the small, sleek things in the market, but with the kind of features it offers and the big screen the bulk doesn’t matter much.

It has an inbuilt digital camera that can take stills (640x480) and video. A drawback, however, is the placement of the lens at the back. You invariably cover the lens with your finger. It also has an audio recorder, and is GPRS and MMS-enabled. All these applications are supported with an internal 3.4 MB dynamic memory and a MMC card expansion slot. The part it loses out on, is that the expansion slot is under the battery making it a little inaccessible.

With the support that the Symbian-based series 60 phones are generating, it is very easy to find apps and games for your 3650. There are various games and software enhancements available on the Nokia website.

SyncML enables to synchronize your contacts with Microsoft Outlook and Lotus notes. It even has a fully featured mail client that can handle POP/IMAP4/SMTP protocols easily. On the communication front, it has Infrared, Blue tooth, WAP over GPRS and a XHTML browser. This device is an all out mobile communication powerhouse.

Its software follows the footsteps of the 7650 and is quite responsive. Unlike a lot of full color MMS phones in the market, the navigation is surprisingly snappy.

The feature-rich phone could have done with a better keypad though, and a more accessible memory-expansion slot. A good range of available software and games can make this phone more usable and fun to use.
