MyVoIPSpeed Server simulates VoIP communications between two points and analyses data transfer rates based on round trip latency, maximum pause between requests, packets loss and jitter in the network. The installation is simple and all most all the settings are pre-defined. There is nothing much you need to do for basic sever setup. Download the application (we used the NOC Edition) from the URL given above and install it.

Remember you need to hace Java Runtime installed to be able to do this. Start the MyVoIP Server from start menu. The NOC edition performs single point agentless synthetic testing.

Applies To: IT Managers
Price: $1,195 per year NOC edition
USP: Simulate VoIP links on your network to
understand where the bottlenecks are
Primary Link: http://www.myvoipspeed.com
Google Keywords: VoIP speed tester

On the main application page, click on the Server Options link at the bottom to change server preferences. In the first section of the page, change the IP address from any/all to the address of desired IIS web server. This configuration is required to continue testing - the process uploads an applet to this server and uses that to perform the network analysis. Click on the Throttling tab in Server options and check the option to 'Throttling test usage by enforcing delay between test start times' option under Global Throttling section. This will put a delay on tests running to avoid load on VoIP server.

Restrict the user to a number of tests per day to avoid unnecessary usage of the application. After configuration, check the 'click here to view your server' link. The page will show multiple options for reporting with an option for administration and testing. Click on the 'Perform new test' option. Select a test type from Professional, Standard and other options on the screen and click on 'Start' to begin testing. A report is displayed at the end of tests as the connection summary. Among the factors described in the report, you can check download and upload speeds, measurement of quality of service, jitter and packet loss.

At the end of the connection benchmark, MyVoIPSpeed displays upload and download speeds with a comaprison against standard bandwidth options

In the end, a collaborative score is presented based on above criteria that tells you how well set up your network is for VoIP.
