This was one of the three dual CPU motherboards that we received. As it has both a Slot 1 and Socket 370, it can take in a Celeron, a PII or a PIII processor. The 920BF is one of the older boards in the market. It has connectors for both AT and ATX type of power supply. Based on the SiS 620 chipset, it has an ISA slot along with two PCI slots. An older DIN connector is for the keyboard. Its two DIMM slots take in a maximum of 512 MB RAM. The layout of the motherboard is not too good as we found the location of slots and positioning of cables a little complicated. Also, though the board has a header for two USB ports, it has no extra cable and connectors. You’ll probably have to buy them separately.

As far as the performance goes, the board was the worst performer in our benchmarks. Even in Business Winstone 99, for productivity applications, the score was a meager 19.1 Winstone units, which was the lowest. The performance for 3D Mark 2000 was also the lowest at only 1.5 units. The same was true for the scores of other application benchmarks like VideoMark and Audio Winbench. We could share a maximum of only 8 MB of main memory for video through the board’s BIOS. Quake III Arena could not run at all and the overall score for performance was as low as 29.7 out of a total of 100.

Priced at Rs 3,700, this was the cheapest of all the motherboards that we got. But the board’s penalty in performance and does not make that price appealing enough.
