This Gigabit Ethernet switch can be used for upgrading congested network backbones
This is a four-port Gigabit Ethernet switch that can be used by organizations for upgrading their network backbones to higher bandwidth. All its ports support auto-negotiation, sensing traffic between three different speeds (10/100/1000 Mbps). The highlight of this switch is its four slots, which can take 1000 Mbps Gigabit or fiber modules. Apart from these, it has standard features such as creating trunking groups of up to four ports and supports VLAN. The switch lets you configure load sharing, based on destination and source MAC address. It also has a unique feature called Broadcast Storm Protection, which controls broadcast packets to avoid congestion on the network. The switch can be managed through a console, Web, Telnet and SNMP/RMON. This switch can be easily mounted on a stackable rack. To prevent IGMP data being broadcasted, it uses IGMP IP-multicasting that avoids wastage of bandwidth.
