These include a comprehensive on screen menu with an automatic image setup button; support for up to 1280x1024 resolution and 75 Hz refresh rate; and a built-in power supply. The monitor can’t be swiveled as the screen is fixed to its bezel, and there’s no height adjustment either. It can however, be tilted forward by 4 degrees and backwards by 40 degrees.

We tested the monitor’s display quality using a Radeon 9600 card with 128 MB video RAM, and found it to be pretty good.

It displayed sharp images with vivid colors and gave the best results in its maximum resolution of 1280x1024. The monitor supports brightness up to 250cd/m/m and a contrast ratio of 350:1. And it also supports vertical and horizontal viewing angles of 120 and 140 degrees respectively. Being a barebones monitor, there’s no digital input connector or the facility to do portrait viewing.

The monitor has a rated power consumption of 45 Watts, which is similar to other 17” LCD monitors in the market. It’s fairly easy to learn how to adjust the monitor’s settings. It also has the facility to lock your customized settings and support for given languages.

If you’re considering switching from CRT to LCD monitors, then this can be a good option.
