Dell Inspiron 1525 Notebook

Dell Inspiron 1525 is the latest addition to the Inspiron range, which comes in a sleeker and stylish avatar. It might not be as eye-catching as the Dell XPS, but its design does stand out when compared to the rest, though the interior is the same and the keypad is just borrowed from the Dell XPS range.

Dell Inspiron 1525 has an Intel Core 2 Duo (T7250, 2.00 GHz) processor along with 2 GB of RAM and Vista Home Premium; and all this for about 45k is a steal. Connectivity options abound it comes with 4 USB ports, HDMI port, VGA out, FireWire, Bluetooth, WiFi, etc. The only thing that is missing is an option for dedicated graphic card and Fingerprint reader. To check the overall performance of this notebook we carried out several benchmarks and tests; and this notebook didn't disappoint us even a bit. In PCMark05 it scored 3987 PC marks, which is high considering its price; Dell XPS scored 4865 in PCMark05 purely bcoz of its higher gigs processor and dedicated graphics card. Even LG R200 (reviewed in Jan2008) managed a score of 2522 in PCMark05, even though it costs twice as much to that of Inspiron 1525. The overall battery life was good; we got a battery backup of 6 hours and 6 min, which is quite high for any notebook. But note that this one uses a 9-cell battery while one can expect to get a good battery life even with a 6-cell battery .

Price: Rs 42,439
Key Specs: Intel Core 2 Duo (T7250, 2 GHz), 2 GB RAM, Intel 965GM Chipset, 160 GB HDD, Vista Home Premium, 2 MP webcam, HDMI, S-Video, FireWire, Bluetooth 2.0, weight 2.8 kg
