GA-MA74GM-S2H desktop board is based on the new AMD 740G and AMD SB700
Chipsets and supports AMD AM2 processor with dual channel DDR2 800/667MHz memory
modules. It also supports AMD Athlon 64 FX, AMD Athlon 64, AMD Sempron and 64 X
2processors. The 2 X 1.8V DDR2 DIMM sockets support up to 8 GB of system memory.
The Motherboard was tested with 600 Watts SMPS, 120 GB 7200 rpm HDD with AMD
Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core processor 2.01 GHz with 2 GB DDR2 533 MHz RAM with XP
SP2. We have used the following benchmarks; 3D Mark, PC Mark and Pov-Ray and the
scores were 5281, 7539, 41255.45 respectively. The score for BW was 35.5. The
Cinebench 10 scores were 1658 single CPU and 3253 XCPU while the overall score
was 728. The scores obtained for Gaming performance in UT3, Crysis and Company
of Heroes were 48.56 frame relay, 31.19 FPS and 133.0 FPS respectively. We
tested using NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT.
The board performed well in benchmarks tests but couldnot beat the GA-MA78GM
– S2H board. In 3D Mark GA -MA78 scored 6454 while this board scored only 5281.
Similarly GA-MA78 performed much better in PC Mark and Pov-Ray.

Bottomline : This board has no unique feature, but given the price and
features the board is a good buy.
