This is the second Edimax router we reviewed in this issue and it is priced Rs 1,800 less than BR-6524n (reviewed in Feb 09). The BR-6324nL like BR-6524n is an IEEE 802.11n based wireless router but it comes with two instead of three antennas. Besides Edimax EZView for Internet based remote monitoring like its other counterpart, also additionally features a wireless control button on back panel to enable easy switching of wireless connections. Among other features this one also comes with a WPS button which is quite helpful for quick secure wireless network setup. BR-6324nL comes with standard browser based interface for quick setup. Among security features this one comes with WEP, WPA-PSK, WPA2-PSK encryption standards plus in-built SPI (Stateful Packet Inspection ) and Anti-DoS(denial of service) firewall.

Moving from features to performance, we carried two tests to check performance of BR-6324n. We first checked TCP throughput of this router using Qcheck which came out to be 58 Mbps, which is lower than BR-6524n. To carry out the second test we again created an isolated N network with the help of two machines, Edimax USB adapter, and BR-6324nL. Then we transferred 50MB heterogeneous data from one machine to other; this router was able to complete the transfer in 30 seconds which is 5 seconds more than the other Edimax router (in N network).
