In order to improve business processes, data security and user level authority, the management at Uttam Air implemented Microsoft Dynamics NAV 4.0 at its New Delhi Head office and Faridabad branch office.

Earlier, they had a desktop environment based on Microsoft Windows 98 and Windows XP Professional. Tally was used for accounting and financial transactions, and customized software for tracking and testing cylinders. Inventory management, report generation and related activities were done manually using Microsoft Office Excel worksheets.

There were pockets of information at various locations and departments, and therefore, inconsistency was inevitable. With this implementation, the company has been able to enhance data security. Earlier, it took 10 days to compile and collate data from different locations. With NAV installation, the company has immediate access to all business information. After the cylinder testing process is approved, employees are able to ascertain whether the cylinder meets prescribed standards or not.

This has improved decision making related to pending orders, delivery schedules, etc. The implementation has streamlined the whole process & enabled the generation and customization of various MIS reports from a single program.
