Ferromatik Milacron India : Integrated ERP Solution
To gear up for the future and to optimize the manufacturing facility, the company opted to evolve from legacy systems to an integrated ERP solution
Monday, June 01, 2009
As Ferromatik Milacron India is fast becoming a global company, it faces
competition from other manufacturers in India and China. The company felt the
need to resolve the problem areas that could be hindering the company's growth.
Its main problem is that the existing ERP system is not able to meet the current
business requirements.
And as the company relied on a patchwork of independent legacy systems, there
were different sources for getting information, that leads to data analysis and
reporting getting delayed as the data is manually obtained. Price is a main
challenge in the manufacturing industry, and giving a quote to customers has
become a tedious process with no proper product costing method in place.
Moreover, without a seamless flow of data from different modules, the
information about inventory value, material price, production costs, etc. were
not available readily, leading to inaccuracy of cost calculation for the
machines.
With the implementation of JD Edwards as the ERP solution, Ferromatik has
been able to resolve the issues they faced. Earlier the activities from planning
to production, accounting, sales and finance were not integrated. Now the
business processes are seamlessly integrated, and with data management being
done online, information about finished goods etc. is available even to the
sales personnel across the country in real time. They intend to implement CRM
and BI within the existing system in future.
