Acoris is a subsidary of Hikal Limited, which delivers contract research and manufacturing services in pharmaceutical and specialty chemical. As they have put up a new facility at Pune, they want to have latest technologies to be implementat at their facility.

The reason behind this is to increase the productivity, secure information, providing better customer service, and to implement and benifit out of concept called Green IT. Apart from these they also want to automate process manufacturing with instrumentation and to have sturdy set up that gives highest possible up time.

During the process of implementation the major challenges they faced were, first , to build up the IT infrastructure such that it meets all of their buisness requirements, second to build up a secure setup as they often communicate over fax, mail or voice. And third is to build up the IT infrastructure such that it shows true implementation of Green IT. Apart from these there were some key technical challenges also. Such as both the voice and data network are on same fiber back bone and it was separated at the end level.

So it was bit difficult to separate fiber cores and connect to data and voice switches separately. Next was the instrumentations was on IP base network and Hubert system was on serial communication, hence it was difficult to integrate both communication in to system.

And integration of Avaya IP phones with Cisco IP phones. After they have solved these challenges and deployed these, the key benifit they got was customers  confidence, green environment and cost effectiveness.
