To install the system administrators' workstation, boot the machine with PCQLinux 2006 CD #1 and walk through the install wizard till you get the install option screen. Here select the workstation Install type and click next. On the next screen you will be shown all the five types of workstation install options. Here just select SysAdmin Workstation

Its install type has all the office productivity and multimedia applications. Plus it also installs tools for system administrators. This allows you to mange PCQLinux 2006 server remotely. For instance, one of the tools is called the web CD writer, which allows you to share a CD writer on a server.

The PCQLinux 2006 sysadmin workstation comes with tools that allow you to manage Apache server, NFS, DNS, and much more.  Not only that, but now system administrators can build firewall rules (using fwbuilder) on their own workstations and then can further deploy the same to a PCQLinix 2006 firewall.

Some of the other tools included in this installation are ettercap, to check for security vulnerabilities, such as MAC address flip-flops,  rdesktop to connect to remote Windows desktops and servers, and pcqlinux 2006 desktop sharing to allow you to connect to your own Linux desktop from anywhere on your network.

Some powerful tools for for system administrators
Sharing Windows folders over the network is as easy as providing the name and IP address of your Windows server, and giving your shared folder a name. Ettercap can be launched from a terminal, and is a great tool to identify IP spoof attachs, wherein the attacker does a address flip flops on a network switch.
Use the Firewall builder tool to create firewall rules on the workstation, and then deploy them to a PCQ Linux 2006 firewall. Another handy tool in PCQ Linux 2006 is the rdesktop, which allows you to access your Windows machines on the network.
