An atom based desktop might sound a little expensive to some when prices start from around 15k. Therefore the thought of building one on our own came almost instantaneously and it was only a matter of seconds before we took out our calculators and started calling the local hardware vendor for component prices.

Surprisingly, we found out that building one is extremely easy as the components; most importantly the processor and the motherboard are readily available in the market. Another thing that
came as a pleasant surprise was that it would all cost just a little more than half of the branded Nettops.

Building a Nettop isn't rocket science and anyone who knows the basics of computer innards and is willing to use a screw driver can do it in an hour's time. The list of components required for the build are given are given below and can be found at your local computer vendor.

Note: After securing the motherboard, the order to be followed should be RAM, then HDD and optical drive followed by the UMPS. For easy installation follow the steps as shown in the pictures above.
