MovieFactory is a disc creation and DVD authoring tool that enables you
create high quality DVD, AVCHD (Advanced Video Codec High Definition) and BD (Blu-ray
Disk) easily. The software provides an array of utilities like record video
direct to disc, music disc creation and playing DVDs and AVCHD discs. Home users
can combine video and photos of their family celebrations like birthdays and
marriages to make slide shows with special effects menus. The bundle comes with
well-designed menu templates and anyone can import their own background images
and music to create their own menus. However, professional video designers can
make high definition AVCHD and Blu ray disc with high quality menus.

You can edit and enhance video clips and photos with the HD features
precisely. Capture video from any popular camcorder or any TV transmissions with
TV Tuner Card and make DVD. You can convert entire videotape directly from
camcoder to DVD disc, without using any hard drive space. After editing the
video file, right click on it and choose 'Export Video'. This gives the option
of selecting the frame size to create a high definition file that you can play
on any DVD.
If the system doesn't have a HD DVD burner, the program gives a really cool
option. Select HD DVD in preferences and author a HD DVD project. When the
program asks to insert the HD DVD, insert a standard DVD and it will burn a DVD
3X disc that can play 20 minutes of HD video on a HD DVD player. It will also
play full-resolution, high-definition on your PC with suitable HD DVD player
software. Making a HD DVD without editing is easy, just connect the camcorder,
VCR or TV tuner to the computer and burn directly to high definition playable
discs.

There is a tool 'Ad-Zapper' that looks for TV ads for uninterrupted viewing
of your favorite TV shows and you can cut all the commercial ads before burning
your collection to disc. Ad-Zapper will automatically detect the ads and prompt
you to remove them. AccuCut tool removes any video you don't want after
searching and then zoom in on the timeline to see the exact in and out frame
where you want to cut. ExpressFix walks you through the simple steps for fixing
common digital photo problems such as red-eye, too-dark or too-bright exposure,
color cast, and more.
The suite includes Corel DVD MovieFactory, Corel Burn Now and Corel Direct
Disk Recorder and Corel QuickDrop. All these programs open separately when you
click 'apply' or 'task' on the Corel DVD MovieFactory Launcher.
Minimum requirements for its installation comprise 512 MB RAM, 1024 x 768
display, DirectX 9 sound card and graphic card. This application allows you to
import and export lots of video & audio file formats.
Bottomline: The entry-level authoring suite is a good buy, given its
cool features such as, video capturing, and Blu-ray Disk creation.
