This software enables you to manage routine school activities smoothly, which includes managing timetables, circulars, libraries, etc. The software can be deployed on any web server sych as, Apache or IIS with PHP and MySQL installed. This can be installed in-house also. Installation of this software is very easy and can be done even by a novice . It provides a web based front end, which means there is no particular requirement at the client side. Apart from this, it can be accessed from anywhere if placed on the public server. Its easy to use interface enables you carry out administrative tasks like, managing users, passwords, modify, insert, delete information, etc easily. It also provides you the option of adding different languages, simply by editing xml text files and adding their translations to it. Here, we show you the different processes you can manage.

For installation, copy the extracted folder of FreeSchool to the root folder of your Web browser. Open index.php on a Web browser and provide the necessary details. Provide the username and password for accessing the MySQLdatabase, give name of MySQL database and hostname, followed by FreeSchool admin credentials.

 

Click on 'Next'to create the necessary tables in MySQL and to save the necessary configuration. Login to the system as admin and create the users and groups that will be using it.

 

To create timetable, first enter the subject details from Timetable > Subjects > Insert. Provide the subject code and description, and click on 'Add'. Next add class; provide class name and the school which it belongs to, incase this application is used to manage more than one school.

 

Now add classroom, i.e. in which room the class will be held. Provide the classroom name, description and number. To create timetable, go to Timetable > Subjects > Insert. Choose school and class from the drop down list and click on 'Add'.

 

Now enter the subject, total hours the subject will be taken in a week, teacher associated with it and the classroom. Repeat this to add more subjects. Finally, you can view details such as, which teacher is taking what subject and in which class room from Timetable > Activity > Search.
